Vishwa Vidhyalaya-Vandaloor,Chennai won the Bhajan Samraat Title.

The Grand Final round of the Bhajan Samrat competitions, held by Sri Sankara Televisions was conducted in front of thousands of public people in the auditorium of Meenakshi College , Chennai. They commenced the competitions with the Vedha Manthras. Invoking the bakthi rasa. There were five groups competing for the final round . They all sang with loads of Bhakthi Bava and enlightenment. Vishwa Vidhyalaya-Vandaloor,Chennai won the Bhajan Samrat Title.

The judges for the final round were Bhajan Samrat- Padmashri Anoop Jalota, Carnatic Musician – Padmashri Sudha Raghunathan and Sri Mallikarjuna Bhagavathar. The other judges like Kusuma, who had been judging the whole event from the first round were also present.
The Fifth place was won by Sathguru Krupa Bhajan Mandali , Pothanur, Coimbatore . The fourth place by Maelarkode Sisters, Melarkode , Palakad. The Third place by G.K.Shetty Vivekananda Vidhyalaya, Ambattur, Chennai
The poor farmers from Basaveswara bhajan mandali , Dharvad, Hoobli , who only had the dependency on their abundant talent for the second prize . The specialty about them is they have no basic knowledge or learning in music, nor do they belong to any musical family.
The mesmerizing , energetic bhajans sung by the Vishwa Vidhyalaya – Vandaloor, Chennai — Fully comprised of only school children. The way they performed made the audience dance in ecstasy, immersed in the thoughts of the God, and no doubt even the judges were excited. They won the first prize from BHAJAN SAMRAT – PADMASHRI ANOOP JALOTA with applauds filling the air.
It was announced that whoever won the first place will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs.10lacs. When all the participants, exposed their talents with a very high caliber with lots of devotion , AMALGAM FOUNDATION came forward to award – 4lacs, 3lacs, 2lacs and 1lac to 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place winners.

The first prize of Rs.10 lakhs was sponsored by ANANYA HOMES. All the participants were gifted with a wrist watch too.
The program started around 5pm and went on till 11.45 .. until which the thousands of audience were happily enjoying the competition and motivating the participants.
Needless to say that the Bhajan which Anoop Jalota sang before the actual competitions started entertained the audience.
This competition was to find out Bhajan Samrat – South..the participants sang not only in Tamizh, they also sang in kannada, telugu, Malayalam, English and Hindi. Which again proves that the National integration is more dependent on the devotional values which our Indians hold as a pride.

This grand Finale round of Bhajan Samrat competition which went on up to 7hrs, was telecasted live in Sankara Televisions and also in their website. It is expected that lacs of Tamizh, Malayalam, Kannada and Telugu people who live in 74 countries might have witnessed the program live in Sankara TV and their Website.
